Marketing automation on live data, not a copy.
Most marketing automation tools automate a copy of your data — contacts synced over from the CRM, segmented again in a second query language, drifting a little staler every hour. Unify Loop’s campaigns and journeys read the CRM directly, because they were never a separate product.
- Segment freshness
- Live — segments are filters
- Channels
- Email, SMS, WhatsApp
- Journey engine
- Durable, resumable, versioned
- Consent enforcement
- At the platform layer
Segments that are never stale
A segment in Unify Loop is a saved filter — the same filter definition that powers views, automations, and reports. “Customers on the growth plan with no login in 14 days” is evaluated live at send time, so a contact who upgrades this morning exits the winback journey this morning. There is no sync schedule, no audience refresh button, and no explaining to anyone why the email tool’s count disagrees with the CRM’s.
- Segment on any object and across related records, not just contact properties
- Entry and exit re-evaluate against live data, not the last import
- Edit the filter once and every campaign, view, and report using it updates
Journeys that survive a Tuesday deploy
A journey is a workflow on the platform’s automation engine — durable, resumable, and versioned. If a send fails or a step errors, the run resumes where it stopped instead of silently dying with a contact stranded mid-sequence. When you edit a journey, in-flight runs finish on the version they started on, and you can see exactly which version any contact ran. That is the difference between automation you check on and automation you trust.
Consent is a platform rule, not a per-tool checkbox
Opt-outs, consent state, and quiet hours are enforced where messages leave the system — the same enforcement whether a message comes from a broadcast, a journey, an automation, or a person typing in the inbox. An unsubscribe applies everywhere at once, because there is only one place it could be recorded. Deliverability starts with not messaging people who asked you to stop, and that shouldn’t depend on which of five tools remembered.
Marketing automation, in detail.
How is this different from a dedicated marketing automation tool?
Dedicated tools automate their copy of your contacts and hand off to the CRM at the edges. Here the automation engine, the segments, and the records are one system — so a journey can create a task for a rep, move a deal stage, or branch on a related record’s field, not just send the next email. If your marketing automation regularly needs to touch sales data, that difference is the whole decision.
Can journeys branch on CRM fields?
On any field of any object, including related records — branch on the account’s plan, the deal’s stage, or the number of open tickets. Conditions use the same filter engine as everything else, so anything you can filter, you can branch on.
What happens to contacts mid-journey when I edit it?
They finish on the version they entered on; new entrants get the new version. Workflows are versioned precisely so an edit is never a gamble on what happens to the thousand people currently inside.
How do I measure what marketing automation contributes?
Reports run on the same data layer, so campaign engagement sits next to pipeline and revenue instead of in a separate analytics silo. You can build a report over the exact segment a journey targeted and watch what those records did afterwards.
